Resources Global Professionals (RGP) Senior Accountant in Sacramento, California

RGP is a publicly traded professional services firm with a global foot print. We are looking for strong operational accountants with ERP experience to join our accounting and finance team in the San Francisco Bay Area to support our many Fortune 500 and late-stage IPO clients.

Responsibilities (may vary from client to client):

  • Support our clients in their day to day accounting operations including general ledger (GL) accounting, fixed asset (FA) accounting, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, reconciliations, consolidations, and audit support

  • Play a key role in finance/accounting system implementations and upgrades (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.), liaising with IT and the Business to ensure the system functions properly and provides efficient, accurate reporting

  • Interface with the client and develop processes and controls to improve and streamline accounting processes. Recommend policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiencies and improve reporting

  • Manage month-end (ME) close processes, including maintaining the general ledger (GL) and sub ledgers, and ensure the processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the financial reporting, GL, structure and chart of accounts (COA)

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyze P&L/balance sheet variances

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; Masters degree preferred

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) with experience at a Big 4 Firm a plus

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance handling the general ledger (GL), month-end (ME) close, reconciliations, consolidations, financial statements, fixed assets, and variance analyses with large companies

  • Strong knowledge of ERP system(s), including managing system implementations and major upgrades

  • Demonstrated ability to be hands-on and strategically initiate and manage projects

  • Excellent consulting, influencing, and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate to across all levels of an organization
