Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.


Position Summary:

The Incumbent provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. The Incumbent is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a medical/surgical acute care setting as a Registered Nurse (exception: when staffing is experienced enough to support a trainee or new graduate RN, applicants without the requisite experience may be considered).

  • Candidates must have a CA RN and BLS from the American Heart Association.

  • A Telemetry certification, ACLS and Procedural Sedation Certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Other certifications may be required.
