We are looking for a part-time Summer Intern - Business Support (Finance) for our Sacramento, CA facility. This position is a 30 hour work week with flexibility on hours.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Depending on demand within the organization, the intern will be assigned to support one or all of the following projects:
25% - Support Finance Administrative activities including tracking, organizing and filing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and journal entries. Assist GL accountants with completion of monthly reconciliations and gathering of related support and documentation.
25% - Support Government, External and Internal Audits. Tasks may include gathering support for audit requests and liaising with auditors and Company personnel.
25% - Support annual SOX testing. Assist with SOX testing, documentation, tracking, review of supporting documents. Assist with mapping/reconciling SOX/Six Business Systems control elements. Assist in gathering information to support walkthroughs.
25% - Business and clerical assistance. Task include supporting archiving projects within the Finance group including scanning of historical records and entering data into Excel spreadsheets.
Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree and have completed at least one year of college majoring in any business or sciences field required for this internship. Solid academic track record. Solid communication skills, and strong attention to detail. Proficiency with basic computer functions and experience using Microsoft Excel. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
