The Learning & Development (L&D) Analyst plans, organizes and develops a wide range of learning activities for the California Medicaid account. The L&D Analyst determines, plans, implements and evaluates the learning requirements in relation to medical provider outreach and maintains standards and methodologies that ensure learning objectives are met.
Compiles, organizes, rewrites and edits draft training materials provided by the account’s provider training department.
Develops, formats and edits healthcare provider training workbooks and eLearning tutorials in accordance with contractual requirements, established quality and timeline standards, and at the direction of client-based divisions and provider trainers.
Provides expertise regarding training content organization, format, layout and style.
Coordinates with trainers and print center employees to ensure the information released is timely, accurate and clear.
Conducts research and uses work knowledge to solve complex issues or escalate accordingly.
Reviews final product for physical presentation and intelligibility to ensure quality. Seeks timely correction as appropriate.
Reviews existing training materials for the purpose of modifying, revising and/or rewriting them and works with originators to determine timely, cost-effective approaches.
Stays up-to-date on industry L&D standards and continues developing skills for project management, performance assessment and adult learning.
Participates in the development of training materials for Publications Department employees.
Participates in internal process improvement projects, the maintenance of the internal style guide, and other internal projects as needed.
Attends project meetings as appropriate.
Complete other tasks as determined by the employee’s supervisor or department manager.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Communications, Public Relations, English, Public Health, etc.) and/or equivalent work experience.
A preferred two (2) years or more of MMIS-specific experience in training or editing/writing, demonstrating familiarity with a comprehensive range of MMIS policy.
A preferred two (2) years of experience or more in training or technical/non-technical writing.
Knowledge of Instructional Design Models (ADDIE or Successive Approximation Model [SAM]) and Storyboarding experience (instructional design).
Experience with the following software is preferred: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter and the Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with HTML and CSS preferred.
