The Program

Here is your opportunity to work on the first ever high-speed rail program in the U.S. while growing your career on a groundbreaking project. The California High-Speed Rail program will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds of more than 200 miles per hour. The system will also extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations.

The Role

The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP USA the Program Management role within the Rail Delivery Partners (RDP) program delivery team. As a result, we have an immediate opportunity for an IT QA Specialist, reporting into the executive team for the program, located in Sacramento, CA. Key responsibilities include:

  • Guide Stakeholders in practical implementation of policies and procedures to adhere to FISMA/NIST 800-53 guidelines

  • Drive efforts to ensure that security principles are applied, implemented and followed in a timely fashion

  • Ensure Stakeholders adhere to policies and procedures to acquire and maintain an Information System's Authority to Operate (ATO) under The Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002 following NIST 800-53 guidelines and NIST 800-53a security controls assessment practices

  • Guide systems engineering design and development toward a "baked-in" security design using Information Assurance best practices as well as-specific policies and guidelines

  • Guide engineering development for the security design using IA-enabled products

  • Maintain up to date documents such as procedures, work instructions, plans and manuals

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or a related field

  • At least five years of relevant experience

  • In-depth knowledge of FISMA and NIST

  • Experience of continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, scanning, risk management, project management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio for diagramming.

  • Proficient with vulnerability and scanning tools and well-versed in interpreting risk posture resulting from assessment reports

  • Experience in project management and tracking

  • Solid technical foundation as well practical and programmatic overall security experience

  • One of the following certifications required: CISSP, CISM, CAP or GSLC

  • The ability to work in the United States immediately, local candidates preferred
