Dignity Health HIM (Health Information Management) Manager (Ambulatory/Outpatient) in Sacramento, California

The Manager of Health Information Services is responsible for the operational management of health information services supporting their areas of responsibility, ensuring consistent policies and processes resulting in the best quality medical record and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. The position is responsible for implementing initiatives in accordance with the organization’s strategic goals. Under the direction of the Director of Health Information Services, the incumbent in this position will incorporate the organization’s strategic objectives for excellence in the management and evaluation of the organization’s electronic medical record policies, processes, incorporating continuous quality improvement methods and ensuring that best practices are implemented. Participates with operations leadership in the research, evaluation and application of best practices through relationships with other healthcare systems and Health Information Services (HIS) Leadership throughout the industry. The position is responsible for the integrity and quality of the electronic medical record and collaborates with the Clinical Applications Support Team, Dignity Health IT, and medical group leadership to ensure that the management of the electronic medical record and any associated processes impacting the record align with strategic goals and desired outcomes. This position will be actively engaged in any redesign of clinical workflows and documentation methods impacting the medical record and the efficiency of the care provider as it relates to the medical record. Position collaborates and communicates effectively between clinical experts, end-users including staff and physicians, and subject matter experts on regulatory standards and desired outcomes. Position is responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are revised each time there are changes involving the electronic health record or any clinical/business application, and that changes are integrated into employee training and education. Position also collaborates with other Dignity Health Medical Foundation Health Information Services managers to ensure consistent initiatives and applications of best standards across the enterprise.

REQUIREMENTS: - Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in Health Information Services (HIS) or closely related field in progressively responsible positions. A minimum of 2 years experience managing an ambulatory or clinic-based, multi-site electronic medical record system required - AA Degree in relevant or equivalent education and experience required. BA/BS Degree in relevant field or equivalent education and experience preferred - RHIT required, RHIA preferred - Possess strong leadership, consultative and relationship building skills as well as business process analysis and change management expertise - Possess coping skills for dealing with the natural ups and downs involved in a fast-changing environment - Is professional and courteous in all situations. - Ability to anticipate needs of others and engage them appropriately - Other key skills include effective communication, team building, administrative, leadership, ability to cope in a fast-paced environment and solid understanding of project planning
