Your Duties

An opportunity is available for a GIS Analyst to join our Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Petaluma, Nevada City, or Sacramento, CA office. The successful candidate will:

  • Use Esri product suite to perdoem spatial data editing, digitizing, processing, and conversion

  • Develop maps and other cartographic products

  • Perform general spatial analyses

  • Work in diverse work and team environments

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to interact with others

  • Work outside the typical office environment (e.g. GPS data collection) as needed

  • Provide on-site GIS support at client or other Stantec offices as needed

  • Work on Windows operating system (Word, Access, Excel)

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related program.

  • Strong working knowledge of Esri software products

  • Understanding of cartographic design, GIS map creation, geodatabase design, and feature/ attribute editing

  • 3 to 7 years of experience

  • working in the environmental consulting industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work or intern experience in environmental GIS

  • Experience with GPS and mobile and online GIS: Trimble, Esri Collector, ArcGIS Online, Google Earth (KMZ/KML)

  • Must be willing to work in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate clearly via phone, email, and in person to internal and external clients

  • Ability to adapt to changes in deadlines, project scope, and tasks

  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision

  • Experience with key market segments, such as renewable energy, water resources, transportation, and linear infrastructure a plus.

  • Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license
