Develops and recommends advertising policies, strategy, budgets and media for KTXL advertising, promotion and marketing programs. Responsible for the stations’ style and brand image which is communicated through a variety of media and content to create and enhance station identity and to increase viewership and drive ratings.

  • Establish and develop over-all creative advertising and marketing strategies for KTXL’s brand image as well as that for news and programming content.

  • Responsible for the creation of a brand image for KTXL, which is communicated via on-air, web and through other media; assures that the integrity of this style is maintained in the execution of all advertising, promotional and marketing endeavors across all platforms.

  • Supervises directly and through others the production of materials for broadcast, platforms for news and programming content.

  • Responsible for the visual ‘look’ of the station, including design and branding elements created for all on-air, web and print promotional materials; oversees the on-air graphics created for KTXL news and programming content as well as the integration and coordination of FOX network branding into that of the station.

  • Formulates the advertising, promotional and marketing strategies of KTXL, supervises their use of media and execution, and measures the effectiveness of the stations’ advertising, promotional and marketing activities.

  • Responsible for local commercial production of integrated sales initiatives and servicing local direct clients

  • Responsible for overall direction of sales friendly show, Studio 40 Live, and acting as the liaison between the sales department, station partners, corporate representatives, agencies, vendors and local clients who appear on the show.

  • Responsible for community outreach and partnerships, with local activations and commercial messages.

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of a marketing team and street team

  • Proactively apply audience/ratings data and analytics to all marketing initiatives.

  • Manage the department budget for all advertising, marketing and promotion projects.

Under graduate degree in advertising, marketing, communications or a related field in the visual arts is preferred. Prior supervisory experience in a major market advertising or creative agency, television station or advertising/promotion department is required. This position requires an industry leader that demonstrates the ability to create and innovate at the cutting edge, with an artistic eye, ear and unflagging desire to lead the change in the noticeable and complete creative evolution of television promotion and marketing.


Requires the knowledge, inherent people skills, and ability to work with news and sales departments to effectively conceptualize ideas, supervise the production of broadcast, web and print elements. Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts in each market such as newspapers, radio stations, and advertising agencies as well as other press and media contacts.


Successful strategies will equate to increased viewership of the station's news and programming content which equates to higher ratings which in turn generates increased revenues.
