Esurance Billing Operations Analyst in Rocklin, California

The overall purpose of this position is minimize the number of defects introduced into production. This is accomplished through performing a gap analysis, selecting test cases for review, and verifying test output during UAT (within test region) prior to code deployment. Up front identification of issues minimizes impact to the business and customer. Regression release review should be performed to ensure there are post release impacts to new or existing code. In depth research must be performed to identify defects, define impact reports, post release correction and oversee policy clean up. Analysis is required to read and understand business requirement/code changes, perform a gap analysis, select test cases for review and research potential defects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a SME, review Business Requirements Documents (BRD) or Statement of Work (SOW) for impacts to proprietary systems. Provide input into business and customer impacts.

  • Perform gap-analysis and review pre-determined test cases. Develop custom test cases to ensure code is supplying appropriate response.

  • During code review, open defects as needed and work with Development to correct code related issues prior to deployment

  • Research and analyze potential defects by reviewing and trending billing data. Assist department supervisor in recommending appropriate course of action, to correct any quality or customer discrepancy which effects the integrity of billing.

  • Participate in JAD walkthroughs to understand and provide input into system requirements to ensure the appropriate billing solution. Success is measured in the ability to stay current on all functional subject matter and provide effective system recommendations and solutions.

  • Preparation of testing status, research status, documentation of issues identified in regression (post deployment).

  • Able to work effectively both independently and within a diverse, cross-functional team environment using sound judgment in decision-making.

Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent education required.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in customer billing which includes experience testing, modifying and resolving system defects required.
